Examples of SMART Goals

Sample Goal

Specific: I will display “on stage” behaviors each day.
Measureable: I will rate myself at the end of each day by indicating the percentage of time I displayed “on stage” behaviors. Goal: Average of 90% for the 30 days. I will also provide a specific example at the end of the 30 days.

Attainable: Yes

Relevant: Yes

Timing: 30 Days

My Goal Report (After the 30 days): I displayed “on stage” behavior about 93% of the time. I tried hard not to socialize with fellow workers, but instead, I looked for opportunities to engage guests. Example: One day I was chatting with a fellow worker about a game the night before when I spotted a family. I immediately cut the conversation short to approach the guests, welcome them and ask about their day at a local theme park (their child was carrying a balloon.)

My Goal Report (After the 30 days): Three specific examples: 1) I picked up litter in the parking log each day when arriving at work. 2) I checked the front door each day for clean glass and either cleaned it myself or reported it each time it was dirty. 3) Several days I reported peeling paint in noticieable guest areas to the maintenance department.
